Trophy from the spring creek

This is a healthy cutthroat trout I took from the creek yesterday. It probably measured around 15″. I caught it skating a black elk hair caddis across the surface of a deep pool. The fish would literally launch them selves out of the water after the fly. If the fish missed the fly on the first take, it would often chase after the fly breaking the water multiple times in an effort to catch it’s prey. I caught around 12 fish yesterday, primarly from three different spots.
