Disclaimers, policies, guidelines, and such

I happen to be reading our Peace Corps Handbook and read the section about maintaining your own website. I've password protected our blog to protect Peace Corps, our host country, ourselves, and other volunteers that we may mention in our blog. If we didn't send you the username and password, email us and we'll send it to you. If you don't have our email you can use our contact us form, http://www.steudel.org/contact2.php to ask us for the username and password. The new url for our blog is: http://www.steudel.org/blog . You can still sign up for a mailing list if checking a blog isn't your thing.

Peace Corp Update, Kenya Bound

As most of you know we have long since planned to join the Peace Corps.
After a long application process and a roller coaster of a placement
period, we finally got our invitation. On September 19th we will be
leaving for Kenya! We spend the first 3 months in training before being
placed in our town/village for the final 2 years. Bebeth and I will both
be working in the Information Technology program with my focus in small
business development and Bebeth's in education. We're thrilled with the
location and excited to see some REALLY big animals :)

We have no idea whether or not this will be possible, but we are hoping
to keep some sort of blog/mailing list for those that want to receive
whatever updates we can send out. If you want to sign up, check out:
http://www.steudel.org/subscribe for instructions on how to sign up on
the mailing list. Or just check back here whenever you get bored at
work. We may have to password protect our blog, but you can just email
us and we'll send you the password.

We even got to see that object in the sky called a sun for a little bit.
This is a faaaat rainbow that Greg pulled out of the river. Many of the fish were very very bright and colorful.
Greg invited me to head out to the Yakima river with him this weekend. I hadn't touched my fly rod for several months and jumped at the chance to get some fishing in. At 6:30 am Greg drove up in his pickup truck and picked me up, we loaded our gear up and drove 2.5 hours over Snoqualmie pass to Ellensburg. In the morning the water from the fly line was freezing in our guides, make it difficult to cast. The cold weather didn't seem to have any effect on the fight and vigor of the fish. Here Im pulling out my biggest fsh yet close to 18 inches.

Appendicitis

Well this is a picture of Bebeth in the hospital. Late one evening while we were hanging sheet rock in our basement, Bebeth's stomach started hurting. Long story short, she ended up in the hospital with appendicitis. She's on the mend, back at work, with three little scars where they did the procedure.

Middle Fork of the Snoq

Greg and I took a afteroon off recently and headed up the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie to fish for trout. The weather was gorgeous all day long, and the fish were plentiful. Greg is working a great run that brought him 10 fish to hand over a 20 foot stretch.

Coastal Wedding

This past weekend we went out to the coast to celebrate the marriage of Peter and Kyla Leon. The wedding took place at the Kalaloch lodge out on Highway 101. On the way to the wedding the weather was rainy and overcast. But when we got to the lodge, the weather turned to blue sky and hot weather. (Lots of people got sunburnt).
